Daycare Assistant & Cover Driver

Daycare Assistant & Cover Driver

City Paws Club is a leading doggy day care centre based in Chessington (KT9). We are a small business with around 25 employees. Most importantly, our dogs, clients and staff are at the heart of what we do! We are currently recruiting for a Dog Day Care Assistant & Cover Driver to join our friendly team in Chessington (KT9)

Are you passionate about dogs and enjoy providing the highest level of care? If that sounds like you, then City Paws Club wants to hear from you! We offer a fun working environment, and full training provided!

What does a typical day look like?

You will start the day setting up our daycare site, ensuring all fields have all the essential equipment for the day ahead.
You are responsible for supervising the dogs throughout the day, keeping them safe, happy, stimulated, fed, watered and cool etc.
You will be responsible for taking photos of all dogs each day and posting on our customer google drive
Following our daily enrichment programme with the dogs, including treat work, basic cues and obedience training, redirection and scent games.
Pitch in with the day-to-day tasks that come with working at a day care centre that will involve cleaning (very important in a daycare environment) and also scoopin’ up the poop regularly!
Washing and drying dogs ready for their return home
Cleaning all daycare areas to ensure the safety of the dogs and staff
Driving our dogs to our partner boarding facility
Uploading daily pictures to our company Instagram story/feed

Helping out with general site maintenance
Set down the daycare site, washing bowls etc.
Cover driver duties for dog collection and drop offs if necessary
Then it is home time!

Who are we looking for?

You are passionate about animal care. You do not necessarily need to have had prior professional experience though, as we will provide training for the right candidate. However, animal-related experience and/or qualifications would be an advantage.

You will be part of a close-knit group of dog lovers, so being a good team player is essential.

You will not be afraid of the great outdoors, regardless of the weather – come rain or shine, hailstones or snow! And you are physically capable.

You will need to have common sense, be extremely reliable and an excellent time keeper, as a must!

A full clean driving licence is also required

In return, we can offer you:

Take full advantage of our 3 Tier in-house training programme
Level 2 City & Guilds recognised qualification
20 days paid leave. Plus, no work on the weekends!
The opportunity to work with lovely dogs in a happy environment.

If this sounds like the job for you, please send us your CV and – just as importantly – a covering note explaining why dog care is the right industry for you. If you sound like our kind of person, we will be in touch asap. The next step would be a telephone conversation, followed by a face-to-face interview and driving assessment. Please send your application to Kaii McKenzie –
